Pet's Story or Bio
Maiya's parents sought long and far to find the perfect Golden Retreiver puppy, and couldn't find any adoptable in NJ. Finally, a Facebook post said that two house dogs had puppies in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! So, in August 2020, we headed down there and brought the most perfect little girl back to New Jersey.
Maiya loves the outdoors. At eight weeks she went for her first swim, and she loves the beach, mud, and snow. She thinks the couch loves mud as much as her, but mom said otherwise. She is a total Daddy's girl but loves her mom the most when dad takes out the trash because she hates those large black bags.
She will sleep right on top of you, will bark at 'oh so threatening' cats outside, and carry around your socks all day but never fold the laundry. Her downfall? She is the worst guard dog, because she loves everyone and anyone so thankfully her brother takes that role.
Maiya will be your best friend, unless you are the trash truck making noise or birds flying around outside. That being said, don't get on her bad side, because she will shoot you the most judgmental looks that stick will you all day. On her good side? She will then smother you with hugs (literally) and face nuzzles. She is our Valentine all year round.
