Breastfeeding Story
I exclusively breastfed my daughter for 18 months before she decided to wean herself. We had a beautiful, easy experience that I expected to be much more difficult as a first time mom. Luckily, I’m blessed to have a lactation consultant for a mother and she helped me through the early days when I had no idea what was going on. After that, everything seemed to come naturally to Chloe and me. I loved our breastfeeding journey and collected several fun and interesting places I nursed her including the line to Haunted Mansion at Disney World, countless plane rides, a pub in London and my little brother’s high school football games. I was lucky to be surrounded by a community of men and women that not only supported my breastfeeding journey, but lifted me up and encouraged me along the way. At 18 months, my daughter asked to nurse, gave my nipple a kiss and then never asked for it again. It was bitter sweet, but the perfect ending to our story.
