Breastfeeding Story
To be honest, I've never really thought much about breastfeeding and what it entailed until everything changed when I became pregnant, took a breastfeeding class, and actually started on this breastfeeding journey myself as a new mom. Despite everyone warning me of how difficult breastfeeding would be and how easily it is to give up breastfeeding due to challenges or pain that may arise from it, I still thought that I'd give breastfeeding a shot, and it wasn't until after learning about all of the short-term as well as lifelong benefits that breastfeeding would bring my son and myself that I became extremely determined and set a goal to breastfeed for at least a year. Now that I've been breastfeeding for over eleven months, I can honestly say that although it hasn't always been easy, it has taught me so many things about myself as a mother and individual, has protected and kept my baby healthy, and has created an incredible bond between us. Breastfeeding has been one of the most rewarding, worthwhile experiences that I've shared with my son, and I'm honestly so thankful and blessed that I've had such strong support and love from my husband as well as my close friends who have encouraged me and walked alongside me everyday in my journey of motherhood.
