Houston Live, Love, Latch is an annual event to celebrate breastfeeding for all of Houston. This year our event will be held on August 4th, 2018 at Southdown Park in Pearland (2150 Country Place Pkwy, Pearland, TX 77584) from 10 AM-2 PM. This event is free and everyone is encouraged to attend, bring your family and invite others. August 4th is very special because it also falls during World Breastfeeding Week, an international effort to recognize the need to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding as an essential foundation of a healthy beginning to life. This will be the first year that Houston Live, Love Latch will be held at Southdown Park and it serves as a celebration for breastfeeding families and provides an opportunity to educate families, friends, health care providers, and other community members in the ways they can support breastfeeding. If you want more information about our event you can find it at our
Facebook page.
This year the event is being hosted by Carie and Emily from La Leche League of Fort Bend. La Leche League (LLL), is an international, non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to those who want to breastfeed and provide babies with human milk. We are volunteer leaders who have been accredited by La Leche League International. Volunteer Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers who are familiar with current research in all aspects of breastfeeding. Local groups provides mother-to-mother support through group meetings at locations across the Houston area and we have volunteer Leaders that are available to provide breastfeeding information and support over the phone and via email.
