Why is your dog a hero?
Liam is a 9 year-old rescue and since 2018, he has been a therapy dog, volunteering with his owner as a Therapy Animal Team. In addition to sharing his inner joy, calming presence and soft furry head of hair with anyone who takes a moment to say hello to him, Liam has spent many hours with children in “Read to Dogs” programs at the local Libraries. When it is safe to do so, Liam will commence his therapy work at LA hospitals. Even though Liam has had two left eye surgeries to remove cancer masses, and his eye doesn’t look perfect, he hasn’t missed a step in continuing to spread his love to all. Liam’s intuitive sense to serve people and his natural ability draw smiles from every passerby are some of what makes Liam a hero. Liam and his owner are supporters of the LAFD and it would be an honor for Liam to be LAFD’s K-9 Mascot.
