Why is your dog a hero?
Khaleesi is a hero every day bringing smiles to everyone she meets! As a deaf dog, she was turned over to a rescue in Houston, TX due to the original owners inability to properly care for a dog with a disability. She stayed with the rescue to learn how to “dog” and was placed with her new family in CA! Khaleesi has overcome her disability and now thrives going just about anywhere her mom can take her. We meet and talk to others about her story, inspiring other families to consider adopting a dog with disability. She loves “working” learning new behaviors to keep her mind active! We always stop to visit with the firefighters we meet around town taking photos with children and the firefighters. When they see us using hand signals, most folks are surprised she is deaf and would never have known. She always brings a smile and a gives kiss to everyone she meets! Khaleesi would love to be the first LAFD mascot and meet more new friends!
