Why is your dog a hero?
Oliver is a hero because he has helped me when I have been in emotional distress. When I had a panic attack, something I deal with rarely, he came and found me, and hugged me by putting his paws on my arms and his head on my neck. He stayed with me and gave me the support I needed to focus on my breathing. When I’ve had a long day or I’m upset about something he’ll do the same. He has also done this for my sister. He loves hugs.

Oliver knows how to walk off leash, stop and sit at the cross walk and wait to be called to cross, and other basic commands. He also knows hand signals, and in cases where I could not speak, he still would be able to follow my commands. He is 2 years old, and I am proud to have raised and trained him to be such a caring, well behaved boy. He is friendly with kids and has great bite control. He has a very playful nature, but he listens well and will obey when it’s time to stop. He watches my roommate’s back when he’s working on his truck, and watches the house while we are away. Oliver is a watch dog.

I think Oliver would be the perfect mascot for LAFD, and would help support them however he could.
