Archie is a life saver. One rain-soaked day I was in an endless Zoom meeting while Archie napped beside me. My husband Paul was working on an antique car in the backyard. He'd jacked the car up, and was underneath it when the jack sunk in the wet dirt and the car fell down upon him. Now Paul was trapped under the car, unable to wiggle out, or even to reach his hand to his phone. He tried yelling for help, but the weight of the car on his chest rendered his scream a tiny wimper. From inside the house I could hear nothing. But Archie heard Paul's cry! He leapt into action barking, yelping, squealing, and clawing to get out the door. I let him out and he went flying straight to the car. We were in time! Paul was trapped but alright. A 911 call summoned the firefighters from Station 1 nearby -- I could hear their sirens rushing all the way up the street. We got Paul safely out from under the car, to the hospital (with 5 cracked ribs), and Archie has been our hero ever since.
