Phoebe is a comfort and support to all who stop to greet her, wherever she goes. She often gives hugs to strangers, sharing her love with humans and other dogs alike. Named after "Sister Phoebe", a deaconess of the early church as noted in the book of Romans, she lives her joyful life in sweet service to many and yet, she protects and defends with her loud bark when a seemly threat is present.

Much like the brave men and women of the LAFD, Phoebe is courageous and full of heart. She is full of playfulness and goofy smiles, sure to bring cheer to any fire station where the men and women who spend countless hours away from their own families to answer the calls of the community, at any given moment of the day.

Phoebe's first Christmas photo was taken on a red fire truck at a local fire station. She was even blessed to visit the brave firemen who stayed in town as they worked those long hours battling the Palisades Fire. She is still hoping for the opportunity to catch a photo wearing a fireman hat someday.

Phoebe is my angel, just as our first responders are angels to our communities. She saves my life in countless ways every day, just as the first responders of LAFD do for us, serving the citizens of Los Angeles while saving lives every single day (and we admire, respect and appreciate them).
