Antares was rescued from Yolo County Animal Shelter in 2018 as an almost year-old pup. She spent the rest of her life working as a service dog, helping me go from bedridden to able to volunteer multiple days a week at Haven. Words can't describe what an amazing girl she was. We could have entire conversations just with expression changes and body language. Not only did she help me heal my body, she made me the person I am today. Six and a half years wasn't nearly enough time together, but the love we shared will live on in the work she enabled me to do for other shelter dogs just like her. She was my soul.
