Pet's Story or Bio
Blaze strayed into my yard on a cold fall afternoon in 2013, with ticks, worms, Lyme disease and two weeks later, pneumonia. At the time I volunteered for HRAAD; though he never actually stayed at the shelter, he wound up being a “foster failure.” Now a healthy international traveler, he splits his time between the Gorge and Baja, happily fetching tennis balls, sticks, beer cans, or anything else he can convince you to throw. He loves to swim and hike but distrusts cats, cows, and men with beards. Mostly he is a big, lovable snuggle bunny who will gladly use you for a pillow . He was also the very first dog neutered as part of La Ventana’s “Bark 4 Baja” spay and neuter program, which helps manage the local stray population. Photo is from a Mt. Adams hike.
