Pet's Bio or Adoption Story
Panda Bear was a backyard breeding mom who had seven healthy, but deaf puppies in her first litter. At only 8 months old, she was a wonderful mother, however since her babies had a disability, the breeder no longer wanted her or the pups. Instead, they simply planned to get rid of them. After being let loose on the streets of Houston a local rescue took in the entire family, offering them a chance to be adopted into amazing homes.

We were not exactly planning to adopt another dog just yet as only a few month earlier our lovely pit bull, Holly had passed away after an aggressive battle with cancer. Our hearts were still healing when we saw Panda Bear's story. Something about her photo spoke to my husband and me. Since I had grown up with Dalmatians, I have always had a soft spot for the breed so we decided to meet Panda when we went to visit our family in Houston one weekend. That's really all it took. We had our nephew come to the first meet and greet to see how she responded to children, it was love immediately! The following weekend, Panda moved in.

She is still learning the joys of life as a family dog. She gets along great with our two resident cats and is eager to learn! In only 4 months, she has graduated from her first basic obedience course and is scheduled to start some more advanced training soon. We love this sweet girl, she is already becoming a rescue ambassador and is always excited to head out for a weekend playdate at the dog park!
