Eligibility: This contest is open to residents of the United States who are 18 years or older. HSCC Employees and Board of Directors are not permitted to enter.
How to Enter: All eligible entrants can enter for a chance to win by submitting a $30 donation to HSCC and photo of their canine on the submission page. Entries will be accepted between 8:00am am EST May 18, 2020 and 11:59 pm EST June 1, 2020. All entries become the property of the Humane Society of Chittenden County. We will not offer entry fee refunds.
How to Vote: $1 = 1 Vote! You may vote as often as you like. Example: Give $20 for 20 votes, $25 for 25 votes and $100 for 100 votes! The photo with the most votes wins the People's Choice category!
You don't need to be a HSCC alum to enter - all canines are welcome!
Tips for Winning Photos: - Submit a photo with the highest resolution possible – we want to be able to clearly see your Candid Canine!
- Be in color
- Contain only dogs (sorry felines!)
- Natural light makes for a great photo. Not headed outside? Try using window light instead. If your favorite photo happens to be dark, feel free to brighten in up.
- A few treats and favorite toys can go a long way in getting your pooch to stay or look in a certain direction.
The Humane Society of Chittenden County has no responsibility for lost, late, or misdirected entries. All contest entrants agree to release the Humane Society of Chittenden County and its partners and affiliates from any and all claims and liability with respect to and in any way arising from participating in this contest, accepting of any prize(s), or technical, hardware, software or other failures of any kind. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited. Please ensure the safety and comfort of your pet in the photo. Submissions displaying a pet in an unsafe or dangerous pose or setting may be disqualified, with no refund.
All entrants agree to comply fully with each provision in these Official Rules. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this contest or any person who does not comply with these Official Rules, will be ineligible for any prize.
By submitting an entry, the winners agree to allow use of his or her name, and/or photograph for promoting this contest without compensation.

Seven Days magazine and on
Local 22 & Local 44 the week of June 8
th!
Two (2) winners will be selected. Employees of the Humane Society of Chittenden County will select a "Staff Pick" winner. In addition, the entrant that receives the most votes through our Candid Canines Contest will be named a "People's Choice" winner. The winners will be notified by email or telephone. If a winner is unreachable after five (5) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected.
