Meet Pepper: a tortoiseshell calico that curled up on our porch right before the pandemic. Abandoned and on her own, she was timid but sweet. Over the past year, she slowly became more comfortable until the day we got to pet her. Now, she snuggles between us every night.

She's become the guardian of our garden, dashing in-between leafy greens as she scares off pesky rodents. When she's not playing outside, we're pretty sure she's having a torrid affair with Mr. Blue, her plush turquoise mouse. Her guilty pleasure is binge-watching cars with her paws on the window sill.

Her breed is uniquely 99% female, which makes sense because she's FIERCE. Pepper would make an excellent spokescat for the Rescue Brew because she proves you can have a tough resilient spirit and still have a trusting heart. Plus, she's always squeezing her head into a glass of whatever we're drinking— beer included. ;)
