Meatball was rescued from the CMPD animal shelter where we walked in and asked to take home “the staff’s favorite dog” to foster. From the moment they brought her out we knew she was special. We have fostered 7 dogs and meatball was our only foster “failure”. We realized that she was the most loving, happy-spirited dog in the world and had to keep her. Meatball should win because she is a fighter who was brought back to the pound three separate times when her owners moved and decided not to take her with. When we got her she was covered in scratches and had lost 16 pounds in the month since her owner abandoned her. Despite this, she loves every dog, cat, and human she meets and has an infectious smile that never leaves her face. She has even made friends with a few cats in our neighborhood!!
