Rex is a perfect example of the beauty in adopting a dog. He was transferred from one humane society to the next, before finally being adopted from HSC in July 2020. He’s a totally goofball, he loves stuffed animals (destroying them mostly) and he’s always by my side. It’s been a joy and an adventure seeing his personality come to life, getting to understand who he is and what makes him so special. Although I don’t know his past, I can see in the way he reacts to certain events that it wasn’t easy. He has his triggers, he’s not perfectly trained or always well behaved, but he’s perfect for me. He’s taught me patience, acceptance of things I can’t change, and the true joy of being a dog mom. Rex is full of life, full of love and always ready to give free face licks. Rescuing a dog isn’t easy, but it teaches you important life lessons. It’s truly the most amazing feeling seeing Rex living his best life, experiencing new and exciting things, and doing so with his best friend (me!)
