Reptar was originally a stray, found and brought to the San Bernardino ,CA high kill shelter. He received no attention, being the very last kennel in the shelter. Reptar is a German Shepherd and Akita mix.
My wife and I decided to look for a potential rescue in 2019. Little did we know our world would change for the better. We immediately fell in love with Reptar and adopted him on the spot.
I am a military veteran, and was out of work on medical leave at the time, which meant Reptar and I spent all our time together. We built a strong bond. When we moved to Charlotte, we met with Dog Training Elite and began Reptar's Service Dog training. In 2021 Reptar became my Mobility and Psychiatric Service Dog. Although not a HSC alum, he is a shelter/rescue advocate.
He went from almost being put down to living his best life traveling the world. He flies first class, has been to Disneyland, Magic Castle and Universal Studios. Reptar is the sweetest soul you'll ever meet, a calming presence, a protector, loyal and intelligent like his breeds, my life saver, and our baby.
