Dingus deserves to win because he’s more than just a pet, he’s my hero, my healer, and my best friend. At 85 pounds, he still tries to curl into my lap like he’s a tiny puppy, always making me laugh with his goofy grin and silly antics. He’s pure joy in a big, furry package. Recently, we were attacked by an aggressive off-leash dog. The experience was terrifying and left him physically and emotionally hurt. But even as he recovers, he greets every animal he meets with love and gentleness. His heart is bigger than his size. More than anything, he helped me survive the darkest chapter of my life. He stayed by my side through an abusive relationship, offering comfort when I had no one else. He pushed me forward during college when it felt impossible to keep going. Now, I’m set to graduate this December, something I truly couldn’t have done without him. Though he carries a few new scars, his beautiful face would be the perfect symbol of strength and resilience.
