Meet Gidget. When you look into those huge, trusting eyes, you would never guess that six years ago, she was shot by a BB gun and found injured in a field.

We were lucky enough to make her part of our family. The cruelty inflicted upon her, however, left emotional scars. She was terrified when she first joined our family, nervously watching us from afar. She slowly became brave enough to explore.

Gidget has thrived over the past six years and is now a mama’s girl, but she will always carry the BB embedded in her. When your fingers graze her fur, you still feel the hard pellet—a constant reminder of how cruel people can be, but more so how resilient animals are.

We are lucky to have Gidget in our lives. Today, she follows her mama everywhere, always looking for treats or a shoulder ride. She doesn’t have much to say, but her loud, satisfied purrs tell you everything you need to know.
