Meet Maddie- our joyful, indestructible spirit in the form of a Lab/Pit/Great Dane mix. We rescued her when she was just 11 months old through a rescue program in Charlotte. She had been hit by a car before coming into our lives, and was being fostered by a couple in SC as she recovered. She went through her final hip surgery with us.
Maddie still carries scars from the accident, one on her leg and one on her head, but she doesn’t seem to mind. She lives with a boundless energy and confidence of a dog who truly believes she’s invincible.
She’s the ultimate companion to my husband and I. She loves us and our very large family deeply. She’s loyal, affectionate and very much a heavy lap dog at 80 pounds. How can you say no to this gorgeous girly?
Whether she’s at a brewery soaking up sun and pets or challenging us to endless tug of war she reminds us daily how joyful and resilient rescue dogs can be.
She’s survived something horrible and is now thriving as the star of our family.
