Dior was a rescue from the Animal Care and Control Center in Charlotte in 2022. He was 3 years old then, listed as an abandoned/stray animal, and undernourished. Dior is the perfect blend of sweet and cuddly, and curious and playful. He is a very social cat, greeting visitors at the front door, wanting to be near the action, and enjoying time with his canine friends. He has an incredible sense of human emotions, as if to recognize a person’s anxiety or sadness, and gently moves in for hugs and to provide comfort. Petting Dior’s velvet-like, black fur while hearing his low purrs can ease a person’s mind in minutes. As much as I might have helped Dior, he has helped me far beyond that. Being with Dior gives me a purpose for waking up every morning. His soft pawing at my head, telling me he’s ready for breakfast, gets me going each morning and knowing he is relying on me keeps me motivated throughout the day. And coming home greeted by a friendly meow is a priceless feeling! Dior is truly a case of “who rescued who” and demonstrates the importance of animals in our lives.
