Sir Hogan Houdini (Hogan for short) had a rough start in life, and he was taken into the Charlotte-Meck Animal Care & Control shelter as a stray in 2020. Officers had found him running through traffic, and as he continued to elude them, they resorted to capturing him with a tranquilizer gun.

Ten days after arriving at the shelter, Hogan was fostered and subsequently adopted, and bravely underwent heartworm treatment. Since becoming a domestic boy, he has blossomed into a gentle, calm, and sweet fellow. Hogan loves his family and friends, and loves to welcome them with the "Hogan lean"-his version of a hug. He has largely overcome his fears of trash bags, brooms, men, and water. His early escape attempts that earned him his middle name Houdini have become a thing of the past!

Every year on his adoptiversary, Hogan has a party with his dog and human friends to raise money for local rescues. He is honored to have this opportunity to raise funds for other animals in need!
