Meet Penny, the feline who went from 'street smarts' to 'sweet heart'. Discovered by fellow Charlotteans in October 2024, Penny was a tiny, five-pound wisp of a cat, using her irresistible purrs and charm to win over anyone with a treat. She was a survivor, barely.

Fast forward, and Penny has traded her rough-and-tumble past for a life of luxury as the undisputed queen of her cozy abode. Her favorite spot? A plush, fur-lined kitty tower, where she surveys her kingdom from a sun-drenched window. When she's not supervising, she's proudly parading her favorite toys, meowing with joy, and — get this — 'licking them into submission' rather than tearing them apart. Talk about a gentle conqueror! And sometimes, just to remind us of her adventurous roots, she'll scale the chimney, emerging a soot-covered, adorable shadow of her former self.
