We originally fostered Sierra from the Lake Norman Humane Society. She had just delivered kittens, all of whom were quickly adopted, but nobody wanted their mother. Every weekend, my daughter brought her to An adoption event and up each time she came back home with her. We couldn't understand why nobody would take this incredibly calm, sweet and friendly cat home with them, Of course, my daughter, 16 at the time, fell in love with her. I was not interested in having a second cat in the house, but after a few weeks, I gave in and we adopted her. That was 8 years ago. She always wants to be around people, whether family or strangers. Friends and family come over just to visit with her, they don't care if the people are home or not! When my wife was very ill, Sierra was a constant companion, and I truly believe she helped to make her last months more bearable. Since then she has been a great source of comfort to me, and an example of how wonderful a rescue pet can be.
