Nova should win because she is proof that rescue dogs do not just get a second chance — they become the heartbeat of the home.

She was found on the side of the road at only 5 weeks old, tiny, scared, and unsure of the world. But Nova did what rescue dogs do best: she turned a rough beginning into a life full of love, adventure, and absolute chaos in the best way.

Today, Nova is a 25-pound spark plug with main character energy. She lives for fetch, paddle boarding, kayaking, exploring, and posing like she has a full-time modeling contract. Around here, we call her “The Intern” because she is always involved, wildly confident, and convinced she is running the place.

Nova has also known heartbreak. She lost her brother Capone in 2023, and somehow, even through grief, she kept choosing joy. That is the magic of Nova. She reminds us that healing does not always look quiet — sometimes it looks like zoomies, wet paws, goofy smiles, and refusing to let life get too heavy.

Nova represents everything rescue is about: resilience, love, second chances, and the kind of happiness that brings people together.
