It was love at first sight. Sunny was our “foster fail” special needs pup. We rescued her from a hoarding situation during the beginning of Covid. The Humane Society of Charlotte named her Trip at first until they realized Trip was a girl, so she was Trippie on Gotcha Day. She has three good legs, the fourth is slightly shorter and weaker and didn’t fully develop. Weighing in at only 19 pounds, Sunny is feisty, smart and lovable. She has that small dog syndrome and thinks she is the Top Dog among our two other dogs. Her bark will scare off any intruder. She is the definition of resilience and her story deserves to be celebrated on NoDa Brew's rescue fundraiser beer. She deserves to win because she represents the pure, unconditional love that only a pet can bring us. Plus, she’s so photogenic! I tell her every day that she is my favorite pup.
