Meet Pumpernickel! Charlotte’s most distinguished black cat and the only feline in the Queen City with a Hawaiian shirt collection. He was actually rescued from the Humane Society of Charlotte, which makes him a fantastic ambassador.

He lives a stones throw from Bank of America Stadium, so he loves greeting football fans and concert goers as a mini Panther mascot.

Since coming home, Pumpernickel has taken on his most important role yet: older brother to Cannoli, a scrappy little stray kitten who showed up and immediately started dismantling his peaceful life.

He was our first cat, and he has been teaching us ever since. Mostly that we are staff, and that Hawaiian shirts are not optional, they are a lifestyle.

Pumpernickel deserves to be on a NoDa can label because frankly, he already carries himself like a model. He’s a rescue. He’s regal. He’s dressed for a beach he’s never been to.
