Calzone was found as a stray in Gaston County in September of 2025. His intake form noted that he was a "Very well behaved and super sweet and wiggly little boy." Forgotten Now Family Rescue stepped in to offer him the life saving medical care needed for his glaucoma and FurBNB Fosters gave him the love and space needed to heal. He came home to his forever family here in Ballantyne just in time for Christmas after the loss of our family's 15 year old sweet pittie. Calzone's story of success embodies the tireless work of animal welfare volunteers and his family recognizes the Humane Society of Charlotte’s reality that "For every animal who finds a home, another animal in need arrives at our shelter, making community support essential to our mission". To help support this mission, Calzone would like to raise $1,000 and become the Top Dog! (He would also like to visit every park in Charlotte and destroy all tennis balls world-wide.)
