Coconut was found on the streets of Detroit by a local rescue, suffering from extreme neglect. His fur was so badly matted that veterinarians had to surgically remove nearly a pound and a half of hair to provide him relief. Despite his difficult start, Coconut was cared for by a dedicated team of amazing veterinarians and a wonderful foster parent, when he was healthy enough, he was available for adoption!

While I was living in Michigan, I came across his photo on the rescue website and simply could not stop thinking about him. I knew he had to be mine! I called and called until I was able to adopt Coconut, formerly known as The Professor.

Coconut eventually moved with me to Charlotte, where we have established our new home and even rescued another companion for him. Coconut and his baby brother Mango (from Meck AC&C) are both certified therapy dogs through Invisible Paw Prints). Though Coconut had a very hard life before he found me, he is now thriving spreading love and joy during his therapy visits and truly living his best life. We both are! #adoptdontshop
