Picking up his food bowl with his teeth and moving it to where he wants to eat. Insisting on sleeping wherever his buddy, Chatham, is sleeping. Barking at squirrels in our trees, nearly all day long. Insisting on being wherever we are when we're doing yardwork, watching everything we do.

Your Pet's Story or Bio
We adopted Dalton from the Pitt County Animal Shelter in May 2014 when he was a little over two years old. From that very first day, he acted like he had always been ours, and he was instantly attached to our older black lab Jake who died just a few months later. Thanks to Humane Society of Eastern N.C., in February of this year we were able to find him and ourselves a wonderful new friend, Chatham (formerly known as Chowder), and the two of them act as though they've always been together. Our little family, which also includes our beagle Shep, and two cats Sandy and Carolyn, all of whom are rescues, is a very happy one. Dalton, with his loving nature, was the beginning of the good days that we know now. We are so thankful for him!
