The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization and relies solely on the donations of our community to stay open. We receive no government funding or financial assistance from the Humane Society of the United States. Through the love, generosity and commitment of our donors, volunteers, sponsors, staff and Board members, we have been able to save the lives of thousands of homeless and neglected pets. On average, 80% of our animals are pulled from shelters in our community and surrounding communities that have to euthanize for space.
