Rescue Me : A Year of Hope and Love Calendar Fundraiser
Fundraiser Overview:
The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is excited to propose a fun and engaging calendar campaign titled "Rescue Me: A Year of Hope and Love" to raise funds for our organization. The campaign will encourage pet owners to submit photos of their beloved pets for a chance to be featured in our 2025 calendar. This initiative aims to showcase the beauty and charm of our furry friends while supporting the important work of the Humane Society.

With the community's participation and support, we aim to make this fundraiser a huge success and continue our mission of advocating for animal welfare.
Reserve a Day to Honor Your Pet
Just want a guaranteed spot in the calendar? Reserve a day to honor your pet. This can be for your pet's adoption anniversary, birthday, loved one's birthday, memorial or really any special day! Your pet's photo will appear on the day of your choice. Just choose your favorite photo and then choose the day and pay! First come first served! Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available.

Prizes
The winner of each category will receive a professional photography session for their pet, and their photo will be featured prominently in the 2025 calendar.
Additionally, individuals can
purchase a day on the calendar to feature a picture of their pet. Only 5 days will be allowed per month, on a first-come, first-reserved basis.
Objectives:
- Raise funds to support the Humane Society's programs and services.
- Engage the community and strengthen bonds with pet owners.
- Promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
- Have fun cheering on your favorite pet!
Campaign Details:
Calendar Contest: Pet owners will be invited to submit high-quality photos of their pets in six different categories:
- Cutest Dog
- Cutest Cat
- Sweetest Senior Dog
- Sweetest Senior Cat
- Best Buds (Cat and Dog Category)
- The Underdog (for unique or unconventional pets)
Voting System:
Our voting period will be open from now until May 31st with accepting submissions until May 31st at 11:59pm. People can cast their votes for their favorite pet photos and are encouraged to share their submissions on their own social media platforms, with friends, family members and colleagues. Each vote will require a small donation, with all proceeds going to the Humane Society.
Promotion:
Participants are encouraged to share their pet's submission on social media and encourage their family and friends to vote. The more votes a submission receives, the better the chances of winning a spot in the calendar.
The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is the longest standing animal shelter in Kansas City. We are also the only animal welfare organization that has an animal shelter and a public facing affordable care clinic. We see, on average, 10,000 patients annually through our full service veterinary clinic and approximately 1,500 animals come through our shelter doors each year seeking refuge and care.
Our adoption center is a walk-through facility aimed at providing superior care to all of the animals that come into our shelter. Each animal that comes into our program receives all medical care, including spay/neuter surgery, life saving vaccines, microchipping, flea/tick/heartworm prevention and more. We also strive to reduce any barriers to ensure that anyone and everyone is welcome to come into our facility to look for a new animal to add to their family.
Our affordable care clinic offers a wide range of services including specialty surgeries, sick and well visits, dentals, and more. Our dedicated team of veterinarians and staff work tirelessly to ensure that every animal receives the highest level of care possible. Whether it's routine vaccinations or complex surgical procedures, we strive to exceed expectations and provide affordable care without compromising on quality. We also offer urgent care hours for those unexpected emergencies.
Along with our animal shelter and our affordable care clinic, we also offer a Free Community Food Pet Pantry. This pantry provides thousands of pounds of food to the animals in our community at no cost to their owners. Our goal is to provide our community with resources that they would otherwise not have access to.
At The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, our mission is to save and improve the lives of dogs and cats throughout the Greater Kansas City community by providing preventative veterinary care and spay/neuter services, education and adoptions. Our doors first opened in 1912. Since then, we have helped more than 500,000 animals and people within the Kansas City area.
