A Rebel With Four Paws
As the day slowly awakened with soft whispers and sighs, Rebel foraged for vittles. Along the road he trudged, only pausing for a quick sniff or to lap up a puddle of rainwater. Abandoned out in the Mississippi countryside, Rebel had never felt so alone, but he never lost his smile. His was a happy heart. He loved everything and everyone, including skunks! Skip hopping through the brambles and briars, he became matted and dirty. He came upon a family home with a friendly dog. My friend was visiting and knew when she saw Rebel, that I would want him to join my family. She brought him to his forever home. He was such a loyal friend. When he passed away, we adopted a dog from the Humane Society. We named him Rufus T. He's a cool cat-dog.
