Twelve years ago, I saw this girl running frantically down a busy road and onto the street where I lived (Brechen), so I pulled over and offered her a ride. She didn't hesitate to hop in and that random event changed our lives for good. She turned out to be one of the smartest and most loyal dogs ever in my life. Sometimes I wondered if she was too smart for her own good. Once she managed to pull an 8 foot 2X4 through the doggie door! Did I rescue a stray or an engineer?! She was recently diagnosed with cancer and though I know her time with our family is limited, I am grateful for the years of joy she has brought to us.
