Barbacoa was a stray hanging around - and begging for food - at the Chipotle Mexican Grill on Cantrell. He was limping on one front leg. Volunteers from 3 different local rescue groups got involved in trying to catch this elusive guy: HSPC, FuRR, and Out of the Woods. He was finally apprehended, and after a trip to the vet, ended up at our house. Fortunately, the leg injury wasn't serious and healed on its own. But we quickly learned that he had a very serious medical condition called megacolon, where the nerves that control the muscles in the intestines don't function properly. Fortunately, with daily medication, it's very treatable. "Barbie" has helped us socialize some semi-feral cats by "asking" to visit them in their big dog crate. What a sweetheart!
