How has your dog impacted your life or the lives of others?
Immensely, I've always rescued Westie's and Rocky was my #1 guy! We'd driven from MN. and were discovering our move to Tucson together. Four years in Rocky was diagnosed with cancer and my world shattered. I was lost, alone and depressed! After months of sadness, I decided to finally visit the HSSA. I walked the kennels and there, barely visable in the darkness of the back corner of a kennel was a small, curled up "thing" resting on a pillow completely quiet. The volunteer told me he was a rescue from Mazatlan, MX. and was a street dog, so he had no previous owners. Me being curious, I asked to see him? He sat quietly on my lap, not anxious, not scared, just comfortable and a bit curious but content and relaxed. We fit so well together I decided we were to leave together. Since then we've been on numerous car camping roadtrips, visited my friends in MN. where he's discovered and loved lake swimming, boat rides, picnics and BBQ's. Not to mention meeting new two and four legged friends! We are needless to say, "A Dream Team". Liz & Robbie Roemer
