How has your dog impacted your life or the lives of others?
This dog belongs to my nephew, Steve. Pokey has provided Steve with endless hours of companionship and joy. When Pokey is with the family he makes us laugh with his antics and sometimes sneekyness. Pokey loves to go fishing with Steve and chase the turtles. When visiting Steve's mom, Pokey will try to sneak into the pantry or will seek out peppermint candy! But his favorite thing to do is just hang out with a few raw hide chews and a squeaky toy. He cuddles on the couch with anybody willing. Pokey loves to go on walks and rides in the truck. He is smart and was easily trained although he tends to be on the lazy side. He sleeps all day, waiting for Steve to come home from work. Steve installed cameras just to check on him and make sure Pokey is OK. Pokey has brought such love and delight not only to Steve, but to the entire family.

How did your dog become a part of your family?
After quite a few years of loosing another trusted companion, Steve went to the Humane Society and it was love at first sight.
