Your Pet's Bio/Story
I adopted Avery, my first dog, as an adult, from what was then called Denver Dumb Friends League in 2001. Avery was a delight and had an unbelievable amount of fur. He loved to hike, to jump into trees to try to chase squirrels, was a master counter surfer and once ate homemade chutney, taking the top off a pottery crock without breaking it, was the most incredible cuddler, loved different kinds of fruit and vegetables and oh yes, he also loved haggis (Scottish treat a friend fed him), came through 3 orthopedic surgeries and was a real trooper enduring the "cone of shame." He adored everyone he met and they adored him. I came up with the name Avery, a character from a favorite childhood book of mine, called "Charlotte's Web." I didn't have the heart to name him Wilbur but like Wilbur, he was terrific!
