Joe was rescued after being left behind when his family moved to Alaska in 2010. You could say that he came with the new house. I couldn't take seeing him as a stray but hadn't planned on getting another dog with my move to the country. I finally decided to take him in and make it a family of three dogs. He was young and scared. Covered in fleas so badly he couldn't look up, after treatment, we saw this friendly face and crazy ears! He is so lovable and tries to fit in despite his wild side. I think he lived on scraps, mainly bread and pizza, whatever he could find on his midnight runs. (That was a hard habit to break.) Now he loves living inside, has his furry siblings and spends long hours on the couch. He has a Grandmama, loads of toys, his own bed, coats, a life jacket, a favorite Teddy bear and his stuffed Turtle. He rides in the boat, swims and takes trips to the mountains. Life sure has changed for Joe. He has bonded with his family, even little Skoshi, his older (and smaller) bully of a brother. We love Jojo, Mr. Bojangles...our Joe. He will always have a home with us.
