Your Pet's Story or Bio
Idgie became an Izell family member in December of 2014. We went to HES on a rainy weekend afternoon looking for an older female cat who had similar markings to her. She was in a bottom cage in the hallway and we crouched down to see her better. Due to her young age, we could tell she wasn't the cat we had stopped by to see, but she seemed sweet. We opened the door to let her out so we could pet her easier and she jumped into our arms. Within five minutes, we knew we had to adopt her. She couldn't leave until she had been spayed, so we went back and visited her 4 days in a row on our lunch breaks that week. It was hard to leave her every time. Once she came home, our other two cats adapted quickly to her presence. Her favorite activities are dribbling miniature soccer balls like Mia Hamm, galloping to and from rooms like a miniature horse, and cuddling like a pro on her humans for hours at a time. She greatly enjoys being the center of attention. She is learning to wear a harness and walk on a leash and will someday be a certified therapy cat.
