Little Mowgli came to us when he was 8 weeks old. After being home for a day it was discovered that he had a heart condition (patent ductus arteriosis PDA) he gave us quite the scare as they were not sure of he would be a surgical candidate initially.
Fortunately, Mowgli was able to go to UT Knoxville and have his cardiac defect fixed. He is doing so well now and has a good prognosis to live a healthy & normal life.
We really want to thank Dr Melissa Swift at Red Bank Animal Hospital for discovering the PDA. Dr Billy Pullen at Veterinary Care Specialty Group for his initial echo & expedited referral to Knoxville, as well as Dr Becky Gompf & the entire team of specialists who saved little Mowgli’s life at UT College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville.
Mowgli is so full of energy & life now. He loves exploring his new world & life. At 11 weeks old he can go up & down stairs and has learned the: come, sit, down & paw commands.
