Josie was a rescue from HESCHATT. She was one of almost 50 dogs rescued from an abusive hoarding house in 2004 in Red Bank. She was very scared and did not trust people. She laid shaking violently and with eyes big as saucers at the back of her cage as the others in with her ran to the front to greet me. I choose Josie. I knew it would take a lot of work and devoted patience as clearly she was very traumatized. Josie hid under a bed in my house and I placed her food and water in the room. She would gradually come out to eat and drink. Over time Josie would tiptoe to me and allow petting than slowly allowed me to pick her up. Josie very cautiously adjusted. She was the sweetest, most loving and appreciative baby. She would " dance" when she felt playful and happy. She spoke with her eyes as one can see in her picture. She loved car rides and she loved to "dress up." She loved vacation's with me. She loved to "sing" with my other little fur babies. In 2014 Josie developed Cushings disease and shortly after that diabetes. The diabetes caused cataracts and in 2016 Josie had surgery by VOS Eye Specialists which restored perfect vision... For almost 4 years she received medication for the Cushings and Insulin shots. In May 2018 the Cushings and a liver tumor took the life of my sweet little dancer. I've been blessed with fur babies all my life but Josie was a special gift Heaven sent. She brought so much love, joy and devotion to my life. Josie let me know every day how precious a gift she truly was to me. I love her and miss her every moment.
