Miss Keela was one of the HES "difficult cases". She was adopted and returned several times and struggled with fear, anxiety, digestive issues, a stubborn respiratory infection and occasional litter box issues. She spent over a month hiding in my guest room, afraid of everyone and everything. But over the course of several months, with a WHOLE lot of patience and lots of love and kindness, she gradually emerged from her fearful state and began to make friends with me and my other pets. All of her various health and behavioral problems gradually disappeared and she is now a happy and contented member of my household. Just look at her beautiful face. All the fear and anxiety are gone. I love you Miss Keela. You are proof that even the most frightened and sick animals can have a fresh start and a new life beyond the shelter.
