Your Pet's Story or Bio
Gracie was one of many dogs found to be living in horrible conditions in a puppy mill on Signal Mountain which was raided back in 2017. She spent the first two years of her life being crammed in a filthy, wire cage where she was used and abused in a commercial breeding operation. Gracie, formerly known as Sassy, came to HES Chattanooga scared and detached because she had never known the love of a compassionate pet parent or the freedom of running in freshly cut grass on a beautiful, sunny day. On December 27, 2017, her life changed dramatically when she met her forever family at HES Chattanooga. When she arrived at her new home, she soon picked out her favorite spot on the couch and quickly had everyone in the family wrapped around her paw. Gracie faced some challenges as she adjusted to a new way of life. She basically had to learn how to be a dog because she did not have the opportunity to grow and develop properly during her formative years. Over the years, her family has worked hard to provide a nurturing environment where she is free to roam and explore in the back yard. She is rewarded every night with her favorite treat, freshly cooked chicken. She even gets to have ice cream on special occasions. Gracie will be five years old on June 15 and we cannot wait to celebrate her. We are very proud of all that she has overcome and everything she continues to learn along the way. She is a lot of joy. We often refer to her as our beautiful Beagle baby and we wouldn't trade her for anything.
