Rules

Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the Humane Educational Society to be eligible to enter the contest.
Your photo may contain more than one pet. People are not allowed in photos, only pets.
Your animal need not be a shelter animal to qualify.
All photos must be uploaded; we cannot accept printed photos. We cannot accept Polaroids, photos with digital overlays, photo stickers or doodles, or any copyrighted or professional photos. No photos with digital effects will be accepted.
Photos must be high resolution, JPEG format, for printing purposes. Generally speaking, photos taken with mobile phones are NOT high enough resolution.
Once entered, photos become the property of the Humane Educational Society to be used for print and marketing purposes.
We reserve the right to decline publication of any photograph for any reason. Should this happen, we will notify you and refund your entry fee if desired.

Contest & Voting Fees

Each entry is $5.
Each $1 donation counts as one (1) vote.
Proceeds from this event will go to caring for the homeless and neglected pets in our care until they find their forever home. We encourage you to e-mail, publicize and post on social media the contest link to family and friends and encourage them to vote for your favorite contestant's photo. Votes may be cast during the Voting Period only.
All donations from voting are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Contest payments online are through a secure site.
By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.  
You agree your pet's photograph can be included in the HES Cutest Pet 2020 Calendar Contest should your pet win one of the 13 spots from online voting. HES will sell the calendar to the general public directly and through third parties.  
By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless HES and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
