I want to introduce Ellie !
She was an owner surrender to the Greensboro animal control a year ago at 5 yrs old and heartworm+ (after a DNA test we found out she's actually a pure blooded beagle so our guess is maybe she was used for breeding & dumped her there when she was finished 😞)
 As she made her way to the Humane Society we actually noticed her the puppy room, even though she was 5, she was only 15 pounds so maybe she has been overlooked .. so my daughter and I would take her on day trips with no intention of adopting her … But one day we went up there only to find that she had gone to a new foster home in Athens & subsequently had escaped the gate the same day !  We were heartbroken & put out 100 flyers all over that neighborhood and for 4 days we canvased & campaigned trying to locate her. Much to our surprise and relief , she was cornered & caught by a neighbor! We knew we HAD to have her ...so here we are -her forever family ! She made it through her heartworm treatment & she is living her best life with our 'herd' at the house here in Madison!!! 
Thank you to HSMC for their awesomeness ... her hobbies now include climbing on Countertops in search of snacks, being carried around as if her legs don't work, scavenging the trashcan for something yummy when no one's looking( we call her raccoonia ) , golf cart & car rides, finding the perfect snuggle spot in bed with her mommy ( my 12-year-old daughter), squeaky toy destruction,being our howling alarm system & dressing up in her extensive wardrobe, having her nails painted.. and sitting up in her bed "perch " and looking out the window! You can see her face as you passy by !! we ❤️Ellie
