Doug is 64 pounds of pure chaos and cuddles. We adopted him from the Humane Rescue Alliance thinking we were doing a good deed—but let’s be honest, he rescued us (and also now runs our household).

He’s part dog, part comedian. He snuggles during family movie nights, carries his own leash like he’s doing us a favor, and has never met a snack he didn’t immediately inhale. He loves napping in the sun and going on long hikes in the woods.

But Doug’s not just a goofball. He’s the first to snuggle when someone’s had a bad day, gently checks on us when we sneeze (seriously), and somehow knows exactly when we need a little extra love.

He’s patient with kids, and only mildly offended by squirrels. Honestly, we can’t believe someone gave him up—but we’re so lucky they did.

Doug isn’t just our dog. He’s our emotional support roommate, our neighborhood celebrity, and our best friend with paws.
