Pet's Story or Bio
JJ is a HRA alumni! I adopted her on June 9, 2019 when I moved from NYC to DC. I was looking for one cat but when I visited HRA on New York Ave location, there were 3 cats that caught my attention. I slept on it and when I went back the next day, the other 2 cats went to an adoption event and JJ was the only one still at the shelter.

Back in the days, HRA had one sentence that described each animal and JJ’s was ‘I enjoy fancier things in life.’ So she came home with me to live the luxurious life that she deserves.

I named her JJ, short for Jasper Jones, after the famous American painter/sculptor, Jasper Jones. Not because she resembles the artist (maybe she does) but her white, fluffy cloud coat resembles Jasper Jones’ painting called White Flag.

JJ helped me through some of my toughest times and she continues to bring me joy and happiness every single day.
