Pet's Story or BioMcKayla was dumped at HSSV in 2006 at just two months of age. One day, she was rolled out in a big playpen with another kitten into HSSV's adoptions area back at the old Santa Clara location. She spotted a human who had been walking around looking for an older black kitty to rescue, but hadn't found one that would fit her family well...until...the tiny, squawky kitty screamed every time the human walked by. Finally the human picked her up and the fuzzball purred and purred and purred. She chose her human. When the human put her back in the playpen, she squawked all over again. She wasn't going to take no for an answer. Fast forward eleven amazing years that this screechy kitty named McKayla blessed her human's house, befriended her new big bro Pasha, helped raised hundreds of foster kittens, and helped socialize her skittish adopted sister, Nala. McKayla succumbed to IBD a few months ago after years of being adored. Her human is glad she had such a full life and isn't suffering anymore. McKayla, shown here in her diva state, was truly the queen of the house.
