Brady found me wandering the rows at the Humane Society 12 years ago. It was my 4th trip in two weeks, unsure if I was ready for love again after a loss. Our family is partial to beagles and I was particularly looking for a beagle but there were none to be seen. This one, very young, little yellow lab locked eyes with me but I was not able to have a large dog so I blew it a kiss and walked on. As I was leaving, one of the volunteers asked if I had seen the lemon beagle. I didn't even know what that meant, but she took me back to the sweet little "yellow lab" and when he uncurled himself and got up and walked over to me, I could see he was truly a beagle with those ears and that tail. And it was love at first and second sight! Brady will turn 13 in October and now has a bichon brother and a little beagle sister and is quite the proud and fabulous pack leader. He protects this house and yard like a boss. He is definitely momma's boy and loves me fiercely. He is my protector and best friend, and we are just a tad bit obsessed with each other. He is the most handsome in all the land, I tell him, and my world is forever changed and blessed by his love. I thank him every day for rescuing me!
